Transportation for Families Grieving the Loss of their Child

After a child dies in the hospital, their family must return home. This first journey leaving the hospital after the passing, with the reality that your child will never join you at home, can be devastating. Having to pay for parking in our garages or for public transportation adds further insult to injury.
There are approximately 100 deaths per year in the Children’s Hospital. Through funding from IHM, this Pediatrics team will be able to offer a small gesture of kindness during this initial grieving period by offering a 24-hour parking coupon or a rideshare voucher for these families, whose child has died at our hospital.
