Activities Related to Humanizing Medicine

Clinical Care: Serve as attending on Aliki service and coordinate ongoing faculty development, learning community. This general medicine teaching team provides person-centered care and teaches communication skills to residents and students on the rotation. 

Education: Facilitate longitudinal faculty development for the Aliki Scholars, the learning community of faculty who attend on the Aliki serviceMentorship of residents on education quality improvement projects related to the Aliki curriculum, including patient-centered discharge planning. As Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education, oversight of curriculum leading to the MD degree, with focus on pre-clerkship phase, and integration of Horizontal Strands including the Culture of Medicine themes. Oversight of continuous quality improvement of the curriculum, with attention to promoting patient-centered approaches in educational materials and activities. Structural Competency Working Group for medical student education. This group of faculty and students facilitates integration of the Structural Competency Horizontal Strand into the medical student curriculum.
