I care about humanizing medicine because, as a hospitalist, I provide care to patients when they are most vulnerable. Humanistic care is imperative, in this setting, to ensure a therapeutic person-physician relationship and person-centered outcomes.

Activities Related to Humanizing Medicine

Clinical Care: Provide person-centered care to hospitalized patients

Education: Oversee a training program for hospitalists in palliative care/GOCs.

Research: Subject Matter Expert on a research project called COMPASS-PC aimed at generating real-world evidence for health systems to sustainably deliver equitable and high-quality palliative care.

Leadership/Administrative: Provide oversight over the patient-centered care committee and supervise the Director of patient centered are in the Division of Hospital Medicine.
