Dr. Colleen Christmas, MD

Associate Professor of Medicine

I care about humanizing medicine because I truly believe it is minimally effective without it!

Activities Related to Humanizing Medicine

Clinical Care: I provide primary care to complex older adults, a group that is often harmed when not treated humanistically and is largely underserved owing to ageist undervaluing of the lives of older adults.

Leadership/Administrative: I am honored to be a member of the Program Committee and the Executive Committee of the Gold Humanism Honor Society for many years, and, with my colleague, Dr. Katherine Chretien, to have established a chapter of GHHS at Johns Hopkins SOM in 2023. This organization aims to identify and celebrate best practices in humanistic care in medicine.
